Teesri Duniya Theatre is thrilled to announce the World Premiere of White Lion, Brown Tiger.
Written by Vishesh Abeyratne and directed by Michelle Soicher, White Lion, Brown Tiger is a biting black comedy laced with wit and venom. In a thrift shop, a heated exchange between two Sri Lankan employees breaks out into a fight. Their manager tries to defuse the situation, bringing intracultural tensions and charged racial politics to the fore. But there may be more to the conflict than the two men are letting on…
White Lion, Brown Tiger is a charged exploration of workplace racism, toxic masculinity, performative allyship, and weaponized trauma.

Écrite par Vishesh Abeyratne et mise en scène par Michelle Soicher, cette pièce est une comédie noire acerbe, pleine d’esprit et de mordant. Dans un magasin d’occasion, une vive altercation entre deux employés sri-lankais dégénère en bagarre. Leur responsable tente de désamorcer la situation, mettant en évidence les tensions intraculturelles et raciales qui les désunis. Mais le conflit pourrait être plus complexe que ce que les deux hommes laissent entendre…
White Lion, Brown Tiger est une exploration intense du racisme au travail, de la masculinité toxique, l’alliance performative et du traumatisme utilisé comme arme.
